Applications of Omnirad 651 Benzil Dimethyl Ketal CAS 24650-42-8
Omnirad 651 is a highly effective UV photoinitiator for initiating polymerization of unsaturated prepolymer systems. For example, acrylic resin and vinyl monomers with single or multi-functional groups.
Omnirad 651 can be used in unsaturated polyester, unsaturated styrene paint, wood coatings or primers. It can also be used in unsaturated acrylic resin ink and varnish (paper, plastic, metal surface).
In UV curable polyurethane acrylate coatings, a light stabilizer can be added to prevent yellowing.
Suggested dosage:
Film thickness: 5-20 nm, 2-4% of Omnirad 651
Film thickness: 20-200 nm, 1-3% of Omnirad 651
Specific dosage should be based on the actual experimental results, Omnirad 651 is sensitive to light, should avoid exposure to sunlight, open packaging should be re-sealed as soon as possible.
